White River, AR

March 2018

Six miles down a dead-end road and 45 minutes from the nearest shred of civilization was where we called home for the week. 

José, el burro residente, welcomed us in every day.

New Years 2018

A late arrival meant a quick first stop to watch the sunset at Grapevine Hills trail.

Doing South Rim + NE & SE Rim made for a long (beautiful) 15 mile day.  Our dogs were barkin.

Back just in time for sunset.

Quick little stop at Santa Elena Canyon. 

And another at Boquillas Canyon. We were definitely happy to have these short little hikes after the day at South Rim.

Took a fun trip down a rocky trail to get to Ernst Viaje. Some of the most interesting geological scenery you can find at Big Bend. 

Hit some crazy frost on the way back home. Not sure how common this is, but it was a surreal sight.

2017

Aspen & Gardner, CO

July 2017

Home for a few days in Gardner, a tiny town at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. 

Onward to Aspen. Just barely caught the sunrise at Maroon Bells.  Thankfully this was about 50 yards away from the parking lot.

Wet some line at the Frying Pan outside of town.  Saw some mulies, bighorn, and one especially curious black bear cub out here.

Needless to say, we GTFO of that spot. Wish I had had the camera...
